$300 Adult, $175 age 16-21 - limit 4 people, includes lunch and materials - Warburton VIC

In this workshop we will focus on the elements that make a meaningful and memorable portrait.  What makes one portrait more successful than another and how can you do that?  This workshop will cover the technical, personal and interpersonal elements involved in making a great portrait.  You will make some portraits and are welcome to bring and use whatever camera you most enjoy, whether it be 35mm, medium or large format.  Digital is also welcome.  As well as learning the essence of good portraiture you will also come to understand and experience some of the subtle differences in using different camera types, e.g. 35mm vs large format (including the chance to make a photograph with a large format camera)

Topics covered:

1. The obvious and not-so-obvious elements of a successful portrait
2. Camera choice
3. Lens choice
4. Lighting
5. Communication and Connection
